Camp Layout

Please use the map below as a rough guide for how Camp Anawanna is setup. Numbered cabins are camper cabins and campers also have access to the nearby woods where counselors have outlined a safety perimeter. Campers are not to leave the perimeter without counselor supervision. Click on the map to embiggen.

Daily Schedule

  • 7:15 AM Reveille Campers are woken up by a traditional bugle reveille
  • 8:00 AM Breakfast Eggs, bacon, bagels, pancakes, yogurts, fruits, juices, cereals; morning announcements
  • 9:00 AM First activity period
  • 10:30 AM Second activity period
  • 12:00 PM Lunch Salad and sandwich bar, burgers, grilled cheese, pizza, tacos, burritos, cookies, and Italian ice
  • 1:00 PM Social Time
  • 1:30 PM Siesta Time "In, on or around your bunk" is the rule! Campers don't have to sleep but all of camp is asked to stay quiet and slow down for a much needed rest time. This is a great time to write letters, read, and catch up with your cabin mates.
  • 2:30 PM Cabin Group activity period
  • 4:30 PM Afternoon Sports Open activities allow campers to participate in four or five scheduled activities, various ad hoc games, or quiet time for talk, letter writing and bonding with friends. Some special treats like evening kayaking, swimming or horseback riding are favorites.
  • 6:00 PM Dinner Salad bar, pasta bar, various entrees and sides, ice cream, and cobblers)
  • 7:00 PM Social Time
  • 8:00 PM Nightly Campfire Time for skits, talent shows, traditional and new camp songs, treasure hunts, and trivia stumps like "Know Your Counselor" and "You Asked For It"
  • 9:00 PM Shower Hour
  • 10:00 PM Taps Taps indicates lights out for campers. Counselors are welcome and encouraged to stay up later for social time and to watch for sneaky campers.

Special Events

  • Capture the Flag A camp-wide Capture the Flag game will take place at 3 PM on Sunday afternoon!
  • Talent Show Saturday afternoon's cabin-wide activity will be curtailed into a camp-wide talent show called Anawanna's Got Talent!
  • Carnival To celebrate the end of the week, campers will be bussed to a local carnival on Saturday evening at 5 PM. Campers can enjoy their dinner at the carnival and participate in usual carnival activities.
